Researched Elements was started by a physician and a medical physicist, each the father of a child with autism. Together we make feasible, practical and affordable formulas for the autism community, and for anyone working to get their health back.

2 parents who set out to connect the dots

We have worked together for several years to connect the dots, generate solutions and develop strategies for people living with chronic health issues, with a particular focus on autism and special needs.

Christian Bogner, MD

I was born in Germany. My eldest child's autism diagnosis led me into functional medicine, and it set the direction of my work: understanding autism and finding better ways to support it.

I have consulted with over 1,000 families, and I lecture for parents, patients and practitioners. My research interests run from genetic polymorphisms to the interplay of genetics, the microbiome and the mycobiome.

Alex Zaharakis, MA, MS, DABR

I am a husband and the father of 2. My son's regressive autism at 17 months is what drew me to the microbiome, and I have spent my own time since then researching it and helping other parents through it.

I am a licensed, board certified medical physicist in radiation oncology. I developed an analytical method for quantifying and addressing intestinal dysbiosis from raw 16S sequencing data. That method, Gut Balancing, has had over 150 direct participants with autism, and many hundreds more through trained practitioners.
